Joel Tom Cruise is a high school student of seemingly sober conduct. However, when his parents go away he trashes the house, loses the Porsche in the lake and, through his association with a local prostitute, turns his parents' home into a house of ill repute.

Produced by Steven Spielberg, this hugely successful horror flick apparently came under his directorial control, as well, despite the official credit being given to Tobe Hooper. Things start going bump in the night in a suburban home, much to the consternation of its resident family. When the youngest daughter gets sucked into the television screen, her parents call in an eccentric psychic for assistance.

New Zealand drama written and directed by Jane Campion. The film follows Ada Holly Hunter, a mute Scottish woman sent to New Zealand with her daughter Anna Paquin for an arranged marriage to lonely landowner Stewart Sam Neill. When she arrives with her beloved piano in tow, Stewart forces her to leave it on the beach rather than carry it to his home. The estate manager, Baines Harvey Keitel, watches and listens in amazement when Ada visits the beach to play and subsequently he makes a deal with Stewart to keep it at his own house. Baines is enchanted by both the piano and Ada and eventually makes a bargain of sexual favours whereby Ada can win back the instrument.

Steven Spielberg's epic Holocaust drama which won seven Oscars including statuettes for Best Picture and Director. Oskar Schindler Liam Neeson is a Nazi Party member out to profit from the war. The local Jewish population provide a ready source of cheap labour for his factory, but Oskar's mercenary instincts become coupled with more altruistic ones when he discovers that the Jews he does not employ are likely to be sent to concentration camps. From then on, he attempts to save as many Jews from imprisonment as possible, whilst keeping on the right side of the Nazi authorities.

Ron Howard directs this drama based on the 1970 Apollo 13 mission. Manned by astronauts Lovell Tom Hanks, Swigert Kevin Bacon and Haise Bill Paxton, the mission starts out as a routine space flight which generates little media interest. But all that changes when an oxygen tank explosion cripples the ship and forces the crew to abort immediately. Now Lovell and his crew have to struggle to keep going, while at Mission Control their colleagues Kranz Ed Harris and Mattingly Gary Sinise do everything they can to bring them home.

Amy Heckerling's hugely successful high school comedy is a modern day version of Jane Austen's 'Emma'. Cher Alicia Silverstone is a precocious teenager, acutely aware of her own superior social standing in relation to some of her classmates. She is just as sure of her position of authority at home as well, until her stepbrother arrives to disrupt the status quo. Her poise is somewhat disturbed at school, too, when a new classmate stirs an emotion in her she has never felt before love!

Tom Stoppard directs this feature adaptation of his own play in which two minor characters from 'Hamlet' amble unknowingly toward their inevitable demise. Rosencrantz Gary Oldman and Guildenstern Tim Roth arrive in Elsinore, summoned by King Claudius Donald Sumpter to discover the source of Prince Hamlet Iain Glen's melancholy. Trapped on the fringes of the plot, the inept duo struggle to make sense of their roles and motivation.

'The Bibighar Gardens' sees the controversy around Daphne and Hari's relationship escalate to a surprising degree. 'Questions of Loyalty' has Hari remaining in prison while Daphne gives birth. 'Incidents at a Wedding' finds Meyrick serving as best man at Teddy and Susan's wedding. 'Regimental Silver' sees Susan prepare to celebrate her 21st birthday. 'Ordeal by Fire' has Meyrick reveal the details of Teddy's death. 'Daughters of the Regiment' finds Sarah the centre of attention when she visits Aunt Fenny. In 'The Day of the Scorpion' Sarah meets the Count while travelling home. 'The Towers of Silence' sees Barbie fall ill after a visit to the home of Captain Cowley. 'An Evening at the Maharanee's' has Meyrick interrogate some suspected traitors. 'Travelling Companion' finds Sarah promoted to the rank of Sergeant. 'The Moghul Room' sees Peron investigate the secrets in Meyrick's past. 'Pandora's Box' has Susie struggle to regain her balance after Meyrick's accident.
