Paul Leni directs this film adaptation of the Victor Hugo novel. Set in 17th century England, Gwynplaine Conrad Veidt performs in a travelling circus and is the star attraction as a result of a childhood punishment that has resulted in him having a fixed and grotesque smile. Ashamed of this disfigurement Gwynplaine only ever shows his smile when on stage. When it transpires that Gwynplaine is descended from royalty he is offered an opportunity to marry Duchess Josiana Olga Baclanova. However. agreeing to the marriage will mean turning his back on the circus as well as ending his relationship with Dea Mary Philbin, the only person that Gwynplaine feels is capable of truly loving him.

Danish thriller directed by Jens Dahl and starring Sara Hjort Ditlevsen. Mia Ditlevsen discovers that her wealthy husband Thomas Lindberg Anders Heinrichson has rented out his factory to a callous scientist, Dr. Isabel Ruben Signe Egholm Olsen, who is incarcerating women and experimenting on them to create an anti-aging process for wealthy elites to purchase. When she visits the facility, however, she is captured and placed into one of the cages. Mia must now attempt to escape from the cruel and torturous conditions that she has been placed under.

Double bill of silent Westerns directed by the eminent John Ford and starring Harry Carey as outlaw Cheyenne Harry. In 'Straight Shooting' 1917 Cheyenne Harry is hired to protect a rancher and his family from being kicked off their land by the wealthy Thunder Flint Duke Lee. In 'Hell Bent' 1918, following a poker game that turned into a shootout, Cheyenne Harry finds himself on the run. However, when Harry learns that one of the dance hall girls Neva Gerber was taken hostage he sets about ensuring her freedom.

Environmental horror from the 1970s directed by John Frankenheimer. Dr. Robert Verne Robert Foxworth takes up a post with the Environmental Protection Agency to report on a dispute between a logging company and a Native American tribe who live by the banks of the Ossipee river. Verne's pregnant wife Maggie Talia Shire accompanies him in his new role. However, the Verne's grow increasingly concerned by the sight of damage to the local animal population. Meanwhile, elders belonging to the tribe claim that a spirit has been awoken as a result of the loggers' malpractice and it isn't long before everyone in the area realises that their lives are in danger.
